MARY'S House

MARY'S House (Ministry Alliance for Regaining Your Safety) is an emergency shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence in Pickens County, South Carolina.

A fundraiser for MARY'S House was held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, featuring a classic car show, music by the Sweet Potato Pie Kids and the Accidental String Band, food, and more.

A memorial announcement was made on Saturday, August 5, 2017 that Motor Racing Outreach Association (MRO), drivers, and friends of Greenville-Pickens Speedway are sponsoring a room at MARY'S House in memory of five-year-old Harper Edens and nine-year-old Hayden King. The two Easley children died of gunshot wounds to the head in their car outside the Speedway this summer, as victims of domestic violence. Pickens County Sheriff Rick Clark and MARY'S house Director Kristina Smith spoke during the announcement at the Speedway. Greenville-Pickens Speedway Chaplain Dale Tyre gave an invocation, and driver Tasha Porter Kummer sang The National Anthem before the start of the race.  The Parenting Place

The Parenting Place's mission is to offer services and programs to prevent child abuse and neglect in the Upstate of South Carolina.
