Daniel Pittman enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt at Aunt Sue's Country Corner on Highway 11 above Pickens on Saturday, April 15, 2017.

Aunt Sue's Country Corner held an Easter egg hunt for area children the evening of Saturday, April 15, 2017.

Teresa Lewis, who, along with her husband, Ed Lewis, owns Aunt Sue's, told the many children gathered, "Easter isn't all about eggs or the Easter bunny," and she explained about the following morning's Easter sunrise service to be held at Aunt Sue's. "But today is about fun," she added, and she asked the children questions from the Bible, about Jesus and Easter, with those answering correctly receiving prizes.

All of the many children separated into three groups -- under the age of three, ages four through six, and older than six -- and enjoyed hunting the eggs, with parents or other relatives guiding the youngest children.

All of the children received a prize, and, additionally, four Easter baskets went to four children - one from each age group who found the most Easter eggs and then a fourth basket to a child chosen by adults and children in attendance who had seen the child display kindness during the egg hunt.

After the egg hunt, everyone enjoyed cupcakes and chips.

The Easter egg hunt was a success. "Next year," said Teresa, "we're going to have three times the eggs, and we're going to cover the whole complex."
