Operation Dragonfly:
Kiowa Warrior Helicopter Arrives at Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Park
By Karen Brewer, Publisher

An OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter arrived at the Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Park at the Captain Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library in Easley the morning of Thursday, December 12, 2019. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for March 2, 2020.

U.S. Army Captain Kimberly Hampton, a 1994 graduate of Easley High School and the daughter of Dale and Ann Hampton, died on January 2, 2004, at the age of 27, when the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter she was flying was shot down in Iraq.

The arrival of the helicopter was an historic moment to honor an American hero who will never be forgotten.

"We're so honored to have Kimberly honored and her legacy remembered," her father, Dale, told The Christian View magazine. "It means more to us than anybody will ever know. We will go to our grave knowing that she will never be forgotten."

Operation Dragonfly is led by Jim Garrison.
